My second horror film is one I am very familiar with, my favorite in fact. The Thing (80s version) is a classic. Near perfect pacing and casting, amazing effects that to this day hold up amazingly well, and great atmosphere. The Thing does pretty much everything right (except for some magic computers that have Ai that still doesn’t exist to this day 40 years later).

I don’t scare easy, but this movie is still the standard I judge all other horror movies by. It is scary and it is scares with substance (not jumpscares).

Quick synopsis for the 4 people that haven’t seen it. Researchers in Antartica are trapped in -100degree weather with a alien that is impersonating them. Who is human and who isn’t? Who can you trust, and is surviving even an option or do you need to put protecting the world from letting it spread over your own lives? A great movie that is very psychological and claustrophobic. Definitely watch it.
