Cat back to normal
My cat Shylo has been back to normal since yesterday, and my leg and hand are healing without any signs of infection. Lost 1 shrimp but the 3 others seem to be holding in there. Planning on getting an Angelfish later in the week now that I know my tank seems to be habitable. Still haven’t decided on a black or purple angel fish, they both look really cool, guess I’ll decide when I go to the pet store. Might see about picking up a few more shrimp too as 3 don’t seem to be enough to keep the pleco’s poop under control, and I found out how hard vacuuming a tanks bottom is with nearly invisible ghost shrimp scurrying around…
I am working to get stuff to post on Valentines for you all. Got the shippon done (so if you are a sponsus supporter be sure to check that out in the Shippon VIP) and will be doing a Zoe one this weekend. Currently thinking of doing a drawing of Zoe and Audrey showing eachother their heart shaped buttplugs, but am open to suggestions for something else if anyone has a great valentines themed idea.
Good to hear your hands seem to heal normal. It’s also good if the cats don’t get stuck in weird behaviour; usually they have a pretty good memory when it comes to bad things.
As for the tank … look for a net which’s holes are smaller than the shrimps, but big enough to let the poop pass. Put that net on the vacuum’s pipe. If a shrimp gets stuck at the net, you just need to move the net around the pipe to release the critter.
Also, there are special pipe pieces which have a partially open pipe to suck some stones etc. a bít in and an integrated sieve which shrimps and stones cannot pass.
If your shrimps live long enough to learn about the cleaning procedure, you maybe can shoo them with the pipe to one side before you start to clean the other side.
The net idea is a good one. I’ll have to do that next time. I have a attachment that makes it so they can’t be sucked up into it, but it is like 6in before it stops them so was afraid I’d injure them (especially the baby one that is about the size of a mike and Ike).
